My costly mistake!

Let me tell you a story!.

When my Roomba ran out of parts last year I ordered the original replacement parts for the bags but opted for cheap "high quality" knockoff brushes and rollers or so I thought. When I received the bushes, I immediately noticed a difference in the quality. I said to myself well maybe they will work okay but I just don't know.

Time went on and I noticed the Roomba sounded different, didn't sweep as well, missed spots, and errored out every few minutes. I wanted to remove the brush, but I couldn't find the specific screwdriver needed to remove it so I continued to suffer with it. My son and I spent lots of time clearing errors, At times out of frustration with all the drama, I would just tell Alexa to stop the job and send Roomba home and take care of the floor myself.

Later, when I happened to find the screwdriver. I was ecstatic! I removed the old brush, at this point I hated it, and I gladly threw it in the garbage. I placed the OEM part made by the manufacturer on the Roomba.

I put the Roomba on the floor and pressed the button for it to vacuum. It moved across the floor with ease, the sound was correct and familiar, and the suction was noticeably better. Who would think something that simple would make such a difference?

Now that the Roomba is zooming around with no errors these few things are a certainty for me:

Don't substitute the fake for the real.

A substitute can look natural, but it will definitely cost you more down the line. I had to make two purchases to make things right.

Sometimes a red flag is a red flag. It is good to give the benefit of the doubt, but some things you just know from the beginning and we convince ourselves otherwise.

Fakes can delay and flat-out stop your process.

Don't let this happen to you. Make sure you are able to identify the real from the fake. It will save you a lot of hassle and stress. Take the necessary time and expense to get high quality the first time and every time.
